Beta Service
FileToFit is currently a beta service. Features, limits, retention times, and availability may change as the service improves.
What FileToFit Does
FileToFit helps users compress videos and files to fit upload limits for platforms like WhatsApp, Discord, Telegram, email, or custom targets.
User Responsibility
Users are responsible for the files they upload. Only upload files you own, created, or have permission and legal rights to process.
Age Requirement
You must be at least 13 years old to create a FileToFit account. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this age requirement.
File Handling
- Original uncompressed uploads are temporary.
- Original uncompressed uploads are deleted after compression finishes or fails.
- Anonymous compressed outputs expire 1 hour after completion.
- Compressed outputs for logged-in users are stored in the user's library for 6 hours, then deleted.
- Users should keep their own original copies.
- FileToFit is not intended to be permanent storage or backup.
File Contents And Admin Tools
FileToFit does not intend to view, watch, download, sell, reuse, publish, or manually review the contents of users' original or compressed files. Admin tools are intended to show metadata only, such as filename, file size, file format, compression priority, upload time, output size, status, and usage counts for abuse prevention, troubleshooting, and aggregated analytics.
Metadata Usage
FileToFit may use metadata to enforce upload-size limits, apply configurable quota protections, detect abuse, investigate repeated suspicious uploads, prevent overload, troubleshoot failed or rejected jobs, support accounts, improve compression presets, monitor queue safety, and create admin-only analytics.
Analytics may include total videos compressed, number of new users, anonymous vs logged-in vs admin usage, average input and output size, most used presets or General Compression mode, target sizes, input/output formats and codecs, compression priorities, common failure or rejection reasons, aggregate device/browser/OS summaries, and failed job percentage.
Upload And Compression Limits
FileToFit may reject uploads or jobs for safety, account limits, unsupported formats, malformed files, queue capacity, available storage, upload interruption, or technical failure. Compression is not guaranteed to succeed for every file, and a compressed output is not guaranteed to fit every selected target.
Prohibited Use
Users must not:
- Upload files they do not have the right to use.
- Upload illegal, harmful, abusive, or malicious material.
- Use the service to harass, exploit, threaten, or harm others.
- Upload malware or files intended to damage systems.
- Attempt to bypass upload limits, rate limits, or account restrictions.
- Abuse upload or compression systems, including by repeatedly submitting unsupported, malformed, harmful, or excessively large files.
- Spam repeated uploads to exhaust server storage, CPU, or bandwidth.
- Attack, scrape, reverse engineer, or disrupt the service.
- Share accounts to bypass limits.
- Use automated scripts or bots without permission.
Account Enforcement
FileToFit may reject uploads, delete outputs after expiry, lock accounts, ban accounts, limit access, or investigate suspicious metadata patterns when needed to protect the service or prevent abuse.
Account restrictions are manual review tools for abuse, security risk, repeated misuse, or Terms violations. FileToFit does not automatically ban accounts based only on dashboard signals at this stage.
Availability And No Guarantee
FileToFit may be unavailable sometimes. Compression may fail. Output quality and file size may vary. Users should not rely on FileToFit as the only copy of a file.
Changes To These Terms
This page may be updated as FileToFit improves. If important changes are made, the date/version at the top of this page will be updated.
